eBay Forger Sentenced to 33 Months

Forrest R. Smith, 48, who pled guilty in May 2009 to three counts of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud for using eBay to sell copies of books containing forged signatures, has been sentenced to 33 months in prison. He's also been ordered to pay $120,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors had asked for a 33-41 month sentence, while Smith's lawyers and his family asked for a much reduced jail term.
